Referee activity
Experience as a Reviewer for high-impact international scientific journals: Biosensors and Bioelectronics, Analytical and Bioanalytical Chemistry, Analyst, Sensors & Actuators: B. Chemical, Sensors, Micromachines, Analytica Chimica Acta, Microchemical Journal.
Mentoring activities
EM has been correlator of 1 graduation thesis: Mariagiulia Pagano “Development of chemiluminescent-based bioassays for the detection of life-biomarker in planetary exploration: a novel biosensor integrated with amorphous silicon photodiodes.” (MSc in Analitycal Chemistry UniBo, 2018)
My research interests lie in the field of DNA-nanotechnology. In particular I'm interested in the development of DNA-based nanoswitches for the chemiluminescent detection of relevant biological targets (antibodies, small molecules, etc.) for biosensing applications. During my visiting period in Prof. De Cola's Lab my project is focused on the development of chemiluminescent breakable silica nanocapsules for photodynamic therapy applications.
