IUPAC Awards Luisa De Cola
By adminThe International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) choose Professor Luisa De Cola, University of Münster, Germany, to be one of the most distinguished women in the field of chemistry and chemical engineering. At the IUPAC World Chemistry Congress in Puerto Rico on August 2, 2011 the award presentation to the altogether 24 Distinguished Women in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering will take place. Luisa De Cola, born 1960, is since 2005 Full Professor (C4) in Physics and Chemistry at the University of Münster, Germany, and chair of Nanoelectronics and Nanophotonics. She also is Board Member of the Center for Nanotechnology (CeNTech), Münster. De Cola studied chemistry at the University of Messina, Italy, and was a Post-Doc Fellowships (NIH) at the Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, USA. She was Assistant Professor at the University of Bologna, Italy, and then Full Professor at the University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Her research interests are luminescent and electroluminescent materials for optical and electroluminescent devices and nanomaterials for imaging and diagnostics. Among others she is Advisory Board member of the ChemPubSoc Europe journal ChemPhysChem.
