We congratulate Stephan Sinn for winning the prize for the best lecture at the SupraChem 2017 in Aachen entitled: "Highly Luminescent Virus-Like Particles (VLPs) Through the Encapsulation of Pt(II)-amphiphiles". The prize is sponsored by the journal ChemPlusChem of the Wiley publishing group.The talk considered the application of self-assembled Pt(II)-complexes as templates for the formation of virus-like particles in shapes similar and different from the native CCMV capsids. The interplay of amphiphilic structures and virus coat proteins was exploited to render luminescent hybrid functional materials.
